A very important moment of my life!!! My very first blog!..
Hmmmm,what do i write about, if this was any other time in my life, maybe 4 yrs ago, i could have thought of a zillions things to write about....4 yrs later- my mind is blank!...tats what the corporate world (read operations bpo in this case) does to you...over a period of time ,it strategically tunes out any essence of creativity in you and then trains your mind to think like a robot (and too a dumb one). Flow charts,procedures,training plans,meetings,calendar,outlook,accents,presentations etc etc etc are the tools used to wipe out even a a smidgen of creativity left in you. The only non work related awareness you get is from the idiot box hanging above your head..if by any chance you get a free micro second (..nope i am not exaggerating!)to look up ,all you see is sleaze (read tharoor-modi face off 24/7)
The only bit that keeps you going in all this madness of the so called corporate world are few friends-the only constant in this frenzy...and the few non-friends who remind you to thank god every single second for not being them!!! ( i would have buried myself ALIVE if i were them)....another thing i realised through these 4 years is that in this world there are no uniques...think about it, every single person you know here belong to any one of the categories below-
THE GOOD- in this bucket falls as the name suggests, all those ppl who help you retain your sanity- the one friend who has been there from the time of your joining this jungle and helped you lighten ur worse days by being the butt of your jokes (maybe not voluntarily,right abe?),by being your fooseball partner,your 'friends'companion, by being there in the worst of times reminding you that together we can get through the day ,face the ugly and even wait around to joke about it in the end!...these are also friends who remind you all along that designations or promotions mean shit if you cant retain your dignity with or without these!
Then there are those friends you meet along the way, the achievers in the true sense, the one who has the balls to fight the system- and call a spade a spade!..they remind you what you are losing out on by being the ultimate robot-they remind you that work and life can never balance each other out and your priority should always be life (family/friends, work..in tat order!)...if you are the kind to cringe wen abuses are hurled at you 'lovingly' (yes, thats their way of showing they care!-right jinx?)..then these friends are not for you!..yes ,in their unique,mad and aggressive ways they help you to get through the days you had to deal with the 'BUDDDDY', 'puke is on the way' ,'tora bora' and 'we arent out of the woods yet' types
Sometimes you also come across the deceivingly calm and 'i am nothing but a lamb' friend...dont get fooled by these!....as time goes, these lambs shed their skin and out comes the smart ass(right juno??,wipe that smart grin off your face now!)...their comments are the best timed and the most wicked!- the people to whom these are directed never knows what hits them..until later!....these are also people who never ever claim their way to fame, even when they are most deserving of it.
This category of friends is your survival kit in the worst of times, and your best and bottomless mug of beer in the best of times!..and if you think now that you can survive without them then you clearly belong in my next category...
